Assistant Manager – Braybrooke Beer Taproom

About the Role
Braybrooke Taproom is looking for an enthusiastic, driven and passionate Assistant Manager to join our management team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who loves hospitality, has a genuine passion for exceptional beer, and thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. Working closely with the General Manager, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the taproom, ensuring every guest receives an outstanding experience while maintaining the highest operational standards.
We're looking for someone who leads by example, takes initiative, and is ready to confidently step up and manage the business in the General Manager's absence.
Key Responsibilities
As Assistant Manager, you will:
- Support the General Manager with the day-to-day operation of the taproom.
- Confidently manage the business in the General Manager's absence.
- Lead, motivate and support the team to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Run busy service shifts and event nights efficiently and professionally.
- Help plan, organise and deliver festivals, special events and taproom experiences.
- Maintain exceptionally high standards of cleanliness, presentation and customer service throughout the venue.
- Ensure every beer, drink and food item is served exactly as intended, maintaining quality and consistency at all times.
- Take ownership of stock management, including ordering, stock rotation, stock counts, wastage control and maintaining appropriate stock levels.
- Ensure cellar and bar operations are carried out to the highest standards.
- Train and develop team members to build excellent product knowledge and service standards.
- Help create a positive working environment where teamwork, accountability and pride are valued.
- Maintain compliance with licensing, food safety and health & safety regulations.
- Take ownership of the Taproom's social media, including creating engaging content, scheduling posts and maintaining an active online presence.About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has previous hospitality management experience, ideally at supervisor level or above.
- Demonstrates excellent initiative and a proactive approach to work.
- Has an exceptional work ethic and takes pride in maintaining high standards.
- Has a genuine passion for craft beer, with a strong knowledge of beer styles and quality.
- Is confident making decisions and managing a team independently.
- Is highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Has experience with stock control, ordering and stock rotation.
- Leads by example and inspires those around them.
- Thrives under pressure while consistently delivering outstanding customer service.
- Is an excellent communicator with strong leadership skills.
- Is flexible, reliable and eager to learn.
Working Hours
This is a 45-hour per week position.
One of the benefits of working at Braybrooke Taproom is enjoying some of the best working hours in hospitality. While flexibility is important, evening and weekend working is an essential part of the role.
