Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Residential Support Worker to provide compassionate assistance and support to children within a residential setting. The successful candidate will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing environment, promoting the wellbeing and development of young residents. Duties
- Offer personalised care and emotional support to children in accordance with individual care plans
- Assist with daily routines, including meal preparation, personal hygiene, and recreational activities
- Monitor behaviour and intervene appropriately to ensure safety and wellbeing
- Facilitate engaging activities that promote social skills, confidence, and independence
- Maintain accurate records of progress, incidents, and care provided in line with organisational policies
- Support children with educational activities and encourage participation in community events
- Collaborate closely with colleagues, families, and external professionals to ensure cohesive care delivery
- Drive children to appointments or activities as required, ensuring safe transportation at all times
Skills
- Experience working with children or in childcare environments is highly desirable
- Valid driving licence and ability to drive safely are essential
- Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with children, families, and team members
- Ability to develop and implement personalised care plans tailored to each child's needs
- Good IT skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting young people's development
- Organised approach to managing multiple responsibilities within a dynamic environment

Pay: £28,056.00-£31,062.66 per year
