S.A. Platt are looking for a Full Time experienced Insurance Claims Surveyor Estimator
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Insurance Claims Surveyor to join our team. You will be responsible for assessing property damage, investigating insurance claims, and providing accurate, professional reports to insurers, policyholders.
This is an excellent opportunity for a practical and commercially minded surveyor who enjoys working independently, managing a varied caseload, and delivering high-quality customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend properties to inspect and assess damage arising from insured events.
- Investigate the cause, extent, and circumstances of claims.
- Prepare clear and accurate technical reports for insurers and clients.
- Assess repair requirements and associated costs.
- Review contractor estimates and scopes of work.
- Identify potential issues such as underinsurance, non-compliance, or policy-related concerns.
- Liaise with policyholders, loss adjusters, insurers, contractors, and other professionals.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure reports are completed within agreed timescales.
- Provide professional advice and support throughout the claims process.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and company procedures.
About You
We are looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience in insurance surveying, loss adjusting, building surveying, or property claims.
- Strong knowledge of building construction, defects, and repair methods.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to assess damage accurately and make sound commercial decisions.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- A professional and customer-focused approach.
- The ability to manage multiple claims and deadlines effectively.
- Good IT skills and confidence using reporting and claims-management systems.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customer properties.
