We are seeking dedicated and experienced Mobile Fishmongers to join our team. This role involves travelling to various locations to provide fresh, high-quality fish and seafood directly to customers. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, excellent customer service skills, and a strong background in food preparation and safety. Duties
- Prepare and display fresh fish and seafood for sale, ensuring all products meet food safety standards
- Travel to designated locations to set up and operate mobile fishmongers' stalls or vans
- Engage with customers, providing knowledgeable advice on seafood choices and preparation methods
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the mobile units, including proper storage of products
- Ensure all food handling complies with hygiene regulations and company policies
- Manage stock levels, restocking supplies as needed during shifts
- Assist in the loading and unloading of seafood products onto the mobile units
- Keep accurate records of sales and inventory for each location visited
Requirements
- Previous experience in food production, culinary arts, or a related field is highly desirable
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in food handling and hygiene
- Experience in butchery or food preparation within a restaurant or kitchen environment is advantageous
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse clientele
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently across multiple locations
- Valid driving licence with clean driving record is preferred due to travel requirements
- Flexibility to work varying hours, including early mornings or weekends if necessary
- A genuine interest in seafood, fishmongering, or culinary arts is beneficial
