Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service is seeking a talented and motivated Press and Communications Manager to help shape how we engage with the communities we serve.
The Role
The successful candidate will help shape how we engage with the communities we serve. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced communicator to join a high-performing team responsible for protecting and enhancing the reputation of one of the largest Fire and Rescue Services in the UK.
Reporting to the Deputy Head of Corporate Communications, you will play a leading role in managing our day-to-day press office activity, producing compelling content, and supporting both reactive and proactive communications. From drafting media statements and handling press enquiries to driving digital engagement and supporting internal communications, your work will make a meaningful, visible impact.
We are looking for someone who can work confidently in a fast-paced environment, respond quickly to emerging issues, and build strong relationships with journalists and stakeholders. You will have excellent writing skills, an eye for a good story, and the professional resilience needed to manage sensitive or complex communications with credibility and discretion.

This is a full time post working 37 hours per week with flexible hours in line with the Service’s flexi- time scheme.
