About the Role
Saltwood Care Centre is looking for an experienced and reliable Painter & Decorator to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Full Time 40hrs per week. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in delivering high-quality work while working sensitively within a busy nursing home environment.
You will be responsible for maintaining and improving the appearance of residents’ bedrooms, communal areas, corridors, offices, and other parts of the home, helping to create a welcoming, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out internal painting and decorating to a high standard.
- Prepare surfaces by filling, sanding, and priming where required.
- Repair minor damage to walls, ceilings, woodwork, and other surfaces before decorating.
- Complete work with minimal disruption to residents and staff.
- Ensure all work areas are kept clean, tidy, and safe.
- Follow health and safety procedures, including COSHH regulations.
- Work independently and manage your workload effectively.
- Liaise with the maintenance team and management to prioritise works.
About You
- Previous professional painting and decorating experience is essential.
- Good attention to detail and a high standard of workmanship.
- Friendly, respectful, and considerate when working around elderly residents.
- Able to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Reliable, trustworthy, and flexible.
- Basic maintenance skills would be an advantage but are not essential.
