Overview
We are seeking a proactive and organised Accountant to join the team. The role combines management accounting responsibilities with day-to-day financial operations, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and financial information is delivered in a timely manner.
You will work closely with senior management, the Finance Lead, and external accountants to produce management accounts, support budgeting and forecasting, maintain financial controls, and provide analysis to support decision-making across the Club.
This role would suit someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, can manage their own workload, and is keen to contribute to the continued growth of the Club
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing monthly management accounts
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and longer-term financial planning.
- Produce financial reports and insightful analysis for internal stakeholders.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records.
- Perform cost analysis, profitability reporting, and margin reviews
- Support year-end audit processes and liaise with external auditors
- Perform general ledger maintenance and journal posting
- Maintaining and reconciling the job tracker and Xero data
- Daily bank recs and ensuring accurate invoicing
- Credit control and customer statements
- Be comfortable handling/managing cash and floats
- Manage the finance inbox and resolve internal and external queries
- Collating payroll for monthly and weekly processing
- Quarterly VAT submissions
- Intercompany reconciliations
- Contribute to financial systems improvements and optimisation of processes.
- Working closely with the wider club to understand operations and club processes
We're Looking for:
- AAT qualified (essential); part‑qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA desirable
- Fluent in Mandarin & English (desirable)
- Experience in transactional finance and assisting with or producing management accounts
- Strong skills in Sage50
- Good understanding of VAT, reconciliations and journals
- Strong attention to detail and pride in accuracy
- The ability to prioritise, communicate well and work with a broad range of colleagues
