Company Description
Since it was founded in 2013 the Company provides industry expertise in various applications, including concrete repair, jointing solutions and waterproofing installations. MPS was bought out in February 2024 and now under new management strives to grow steadily by ensuring that it is extremely proficient in the work it carries out whilst developing new products allowing it to evolve and expand according to industry demands.

Job Purpose
The Concrete Repair Technician is responsible for performing skilled repair, restoration, and maintenance of concrete structures, including industrial floors, walls, parking structures, foundations, and other civil or commercial assets. The role involves working from the company central distribution facility in Luton and diagnosing damage, preparing surfaces, applying repair materials, and ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and project specifications.
Responsibilities
1. Concrete Repair and Restoration
a. Inspect and assess concrete damage, including spalling, cracking, delamination, corrosion, and structural deterioration.
b. Prepare work areas by cleaning, chipping, grinding, saw-cutting, or sandblasting surfaces.
c. Apply repair materials such as patching compounds, cementitious mortars, epoxy resins, polymer concretes, and grouts.
d. Perform crack injections (epoxy or polyurethane) and surface sealing.
e. Install or repair reinforcement steel (rebar) when required.
2. Technical & Operational Tasks
a. Operate power tools, hand tools, and specialised equipment.
b. Read and interpret project drawings, repair plans, and technical specifications.
c. Mix and apply repair materials accurately following manufacturer guidelines.
d. Conduct quality-control checks to ensure repairs meet structural and aesthetic standards.
3. Health & Safety Compliance
a. Follow all safety protocols, including PPE usage and hazard identification.
b. Maintain a clean and safe jobsite environment.
c. Comply with industry standards and regulations.
d. Report incidents, near misses, and potential hazards.
4. Communication & Collaboration
a. Work closely with supervisors, engineers, and team members.
b. Communicate issues, delays, or material requirements promptly to the Installation Manager.
c. Complete all required documentation daily and submit to the Installation Manager, including:
- Day sheets accurately completed
- HAVS figures
- Site photographs
- Vehicle inspection reports
- Non-conformance reports where applicable.
d. Liaise with the Installation Manager to report progress and problems
e. Assist in training junior technicians when required.
5. Working Conditions
a. Outdoor and indoor job sites.
b. Exposure to dust, noise, and construction materials.
c. Work may involve heights, confined spaces, and extended manual labour.
d. May require overtime, weekend work, travel and staying away from home depending on project needs.

Requirements
1. Qualifications
a. Proven experience in concrete repair, construction, or structural restoration (2–5 years preferred).
b. CSCS Card Holder.
c. Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme qualification essential, Site Managers Safety Training Scheme is desirable.
d. Concrete Repair NVQ.
e. IPAF and PASMA.
f. First Aid
2. Knowledge and Experience
a. Experience in a concrete repair role.
b. Knowledge of concrete repair techniques, products, and material behaviour.
c. Experience in waterproofing/resin injection and an understanding of the materials used in this field.
d. Understanding of surface preparation, mixing ratios, curing processes, and structural repair principles.
e. Knowledge of best practice techniques to develop and coach individuals in new skills and activities.

d. Full driving licence is essential, company van will be provided.
Pay: £29,000.00-£34,000.00 per year
