The Opportunity

Tile Star is one of Scotland’s largest independent tile companies, importing and retailing premium tiling solutions to both trade businesses and the public. We are expanding our footprint and looking for a dynamic, results-oriented Store Manager to lead our local team.

The Role
This is an active, fast-paced, and highly rewarding management position. You will take complete operational ownership of the branch, driving sales through exceptional service and flawless store presentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales & Consultation: Actively engage with retail and trade customers, offering design advice and practical solutions to help them select and buy the perfect tiles.
- Commercial Drive: Maintain a relentless focus on the customer experience to consistently drive store revenue and maximize gross margin.
- Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and motivate a small, close-knit store team, creating a high-performance, results-oriented environment.
- Store Standards: Take pride in merchandising, maintaining striking showroom displays, managing stock levels, and ensuring excellent housekeeping.
- Hands-on Operations: Oversee stock deliveries and order fulfillment—ensuring heavy product lines are handled safely and efficiently.
Requirements
- Experience: Proven experience in retail management, showroom sales, or trade counter management.
- Proactive Mindset: A self-starter who naturally approaches customers and thrives on converting inquiries into high-value sales.
- Physical Capability: This is an active role. Tiles are a heavy product; you should be a practical, physically fit individual comfortable with regular lifting and stock management.
- Business Acumen: Comfortable managing basic store KPIs, inventory controls, and margins.
