An established indie restaurant bringing the flavours of South Africa to the Northern Quarter. Chakalaka is looking for new team members to help serve up a taste of the Cape and join the fun and friendly team we already have at this Oldham Street spot.
Our menu includes everything from boerewors sausages to monkey gland sauce and we’re looking for a vibrant and committed individual join the kitchen team. New team members need not have specific restaurant experience as full on the job training will be provided but able to demonstrate they can work in a fast paced and dynamic environment, while also being punctual and friendly, with a passion for the delivering of great quality.
Chakalaka is an independent restaurant and bar that has grown a lot since we opened back in 2018, and our close-knit team work alongside one another to deliver great flavours and good vibes in a bustling and accessible atmosphere. With great progression opportunities within the company this position would ideally suit someone with aspirations to move forwards in their career.
Availability evenings and weekends is essential.
Responsibilities
- Assist in food preparation and meal assembly, ensuring adherence to food safety standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and work areas.
- Support cooking and catering activities, contributing to menu planning and execution.
- Collaborate with team members to provide excellent service and meet customer needs.
- Handle food items and kitchen equipment with care, ensuring a safe working environment.
Pay: £8.00-£12.71 per hour
