Here at Electricity Asset Services (EAS), we are currently looking for an experienced and motivated HGV Grab Wagon Driver to join our family run business. This role will be based at our head office in Lochgelly working across the Central Belt of Scotland, including Fife and Lanarkshire, with works carried out on sites throughout Central Scotland. This role involves travel; therefore, a full driving licence is required.
Who we are
EAS specialise in procurement, design, management and execution of all works associated with High and Low voltage underground electricity networks on behalf of major framework contractors and Distribution Network Operators (DNO’s).
We have over 40 years combined experience specific to our services offered such as HV/LV cable jointing and terminating, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, 24 hours emergency call out, project management and more. Our purpose is to positively contribute to the electrical industry- providing value to our clients, customer and our people.
Overall purpose of the role
As an HGV Grab Wagon Driver your responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a grab wagon in support of reinstatement and surfacing works associated with electricity infrastructure projects. The role requires close coordination with site operatives and project management to ensure works are completed safely, on schedule, and in full compliance with health and safety regulations.
This will be achieved by: -
· Safely operating the HGV grab wagon
· Carrying out daily vehicle checks, ensuring the grab wagon is maintained in a safe, roadworthy, and compliant condition.
· Working closely with site operatives, supervisors, and project managers to ensure work is carried out safely and effectively in line with project requirements and health and safety standards.
Main Duties, Responsibilities & Accountabilities
The HGV Grab Wagon Driver will be expected to perform any of the following tasks:
· Safely operate HGV vehicles, ensuring compliance with all relevant traffic laws, regulations, and company policies
· Load and unload materials as required using the grab and other appropriate equipment
· Complete daily vehicle inspections and carry out basic maintenance checks, reporting defects promptly
· Update and complete site documentation accurately using an electronic tablet
· Carry out site-specific risk assessments
· Maintain safe, compliant, and courteous driving standards at all times
· Communicate effectively with site operatives, supervisors, and management to support safe and efficient operations
· Any other duties as reasonably required
