Site Manager – School Refurbishment
We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee a school refurbishment project in Portland, Dorset. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and organised individual with a proven track record of delivering refurbishment projects safely, on time and to a high standard.
Experience working within live educational environments is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the site.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and site labour.
- Ensure works are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.
- Maintain compliance with health and safety legislation and company procedures.
- Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks and regular site inspections.
- Liaise professionally with the client, school representatives and other stakeholders.
- Maintain site records, including RAMS, permits, inspections and daily site diaries.
- Report progress to the Contracts Manager.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Manager on refurbishment projects.
- Valid SMSTS certificate.
- Valid CSCS Managers Card.
- Valid First Aid at Work certificate.
- Enhanced DBS Certificate (current and valid) or willingness to obtain one before commencement.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation.
- Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable
- Previous experience managing school or education refurbishment projects.
- Asbestos Awareness.
- Temporary Works knowledge.
