General Labourer / Trainee Builder
Self-Employed | Full-Time | York & Surrounding Areas
D. Cooper Building is looking for a reliable and hardworking General Labourer to join our small team on a self-employed basis.
We carry out a wide range of residential building work including extensions, brickwork, patios, structural alterations, garage conversions and general building projects throughout York and the surrounding areas.
We’re looking for someone who is dependable, takes pride in their work and wants to be part of a growing business for the long term.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with all aspects of building work
- Mixing mortar and preparing materials
- Loading and unloading deliveries
- Digging foundations and preparing sub-bases
- Assisting with brickwork, paving, drainage and structural work
- Keeping sites clean, tidy and safe
- Protecting customers’ homes and carrying out a full clean-up at the end of each day
- Using hand and power tools safely
Requirements
- Reliable and punctual
- Physically fit and happy working outdoors
- Good attitude and willing to learn
- Able to work well as part of a small team
- Own transport is essential
- Construction experience is an advantage but not essential
- Must be able to work on a self-employed/CIS basis
