The Job
Our Pastry Chefs strives to deliver the superior level of guest service that we are known for. They are hardworking, dedicated, and uphold exceptional culinary standards. Our teams have bags of personality and are confident working in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining MAISON COUCOU’s high standards. Responsibilities

Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, cakes, breads, desserts, and specialty baked goods.

Develop and test new recipes and seasonal menu items.

Decorate cakes and desserts to high presentation standards.

Ensure consistent quality, taste, and appearance of all baked products.

Monitor ingredient inventory and place orders as needed.

Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen in compliance with food safety regulations.

Operate and maintain baking equipment safely and efficiently.

Manage production schedules to meet daily customer demand and special orders.

Minimize food waste through proper planning and inventory management.

Collaborate with the culinary team to create dessert menus for events and special occasions.

Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards.Requirements

Proven experience as a Pastry Chef, Baker, or similar role.

Culinary or pastry arts certification is preferred.

Strong knowledge of baking techniques, pastry preparation, and dessert decoration.

Creativity and passion for developing innovative desserts.

Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and HACCP principles.

Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Leadership and team management experience.

Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining high-quality standards.

Knowledge of inventory control and cost management is an advantage.

Living in or nearby Gibraltar

Fluent in English; Spanish is a plus
