Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer
Pay: From £17.00 per hour, depending on experience
We are a well-established, friendly and people-focused business looking for an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied, hands-on role and likes solving problems rather than doing the same job every day. You’ll be responsible for keeping our machinery, equipment and buildings running safely and efficiently, as well as carrying out repairs, improvements and general engineering projects.
This is a practical and varied position where no two days are necessarily the same. You will work across a wide range of machinery, equipment and site facilities, carrying out planned maintenance, fault-finding, repairs and improvements.
The role would suit someone who is practical, resourceful and confident working independently, while also being happy to work as part of a wider team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining and repairing a wide range of machinery and equipment
- Diagnosing faults and carrying out effective repairs
- Welding and fabrication work
- Mechanical maintenance and engineering
- Basic electrical fault-finding and repairs
- Carrying out general maintenance and improvements to buildings and site facilities
- Helping to identify potential problems and prevent breakdowns
- Supporting the wider team with practical engineering and maintenance requirements
- Working safely and keeping maintenance areas and equipment in good order
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Proven experience in a multi-skilled maintenance or engineering role
- Good welding and fabrication skills
- Strong mechanical engineering and maintenance skills
- Ability to fault-find, diagnose problems and carry out repairs
- A practical, hands-on approach to problem-solving
- Ability to work independently and use your own initiative
- A positive, can-do attitude
Desirable:
- Basic electrical knowledge
- Experience working with a variety of machinery
- Experience in a manufacturing, agricultural, horticultural or similar environment
We are particularly interested in someone who is able to turn their hand to a bit of everything and enjoys finding practical solutions to problems.
Hours
- Full-time position
- Hours and start time negotiable for the right person
- Flexible working hours where possible
- Very occasional out-of-hours call-outs may be required
