We are searching for a passionate Sous Chef who can confidently support the The team, assist with the training and development of junior chefs along with running their own section. You will work with the kitchen team to ensure consistently high standards are met. The ideal candidate will be used to a fast paced environment, have knowledge of Health and Safety standards and possess excellent leadership skills.
Your role will be to assist with the day to day running of the food operation at the Hotel.
This includes: ordering, staff control, quality and cleanliness, waste control and of course, actually producing the food and menus. All this should be controlled in liaison with the Head Chef. However you will also be expected to help in other areas of the business when necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists and supports the Executive Chef
- Offers assistance to the management team
- Helps the Chefs select and train kitchen staff
- Assists with the planning of menus and meals
- Oversees the preparation and service of food
Skills and Specifications
- Must love and enjoy working with food
- The level of personal hygiene should be high
- Good organisational and management skills
- Superior oral and written communication skills
- Good attention to detail plus the ability to quickly identify and resolve problems
- Can work well under pressure
