We're looking for an enthusiastic, organised, and hands-on Catering Supervisor to lead our cafe huts and seasonal catering outlets during our busiest time of year. Reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager, you'll oversee the day-to-day operation of our catering huts, ensuring exceptional food quality, excellent customer service, and smooth, efficient operations throughout our Halloween and Christmas events.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver Outstanding Customer Service
- Lead by example, providing every guest with a warm, friendly, and memorable experience.
- Support and motivate the catering team to always deliver excellent service.
- Resolve customer enquiries and concerns professionally and efficiently.
- Ensure every interaction reflects the high standards and values of Audley End Enchanted Railway.
Supervise Catering Operations
- Oversee the daily running of seasonal cafe huts and catering outlets.
- Prepare, cook, and serve food and beverages to a consistently high standard.
- Ensure outlets are fully stocked, organised, and ready for service each day.
- Maintain excellent food presentation, quality, and portion control.
Food Safety, Hygiene & Compliance
- Ensure all food hygiene, health & safety, and allergen procedures are followed.
- Maintain exceptional cleanliness across all catering areas.
- Support safe working practices and assist with first aid incidents if required (training provided where appropriate).
Team Leadership
- Supervise, support, and motivate seasonal catering staff throughout each shift.
- Assist with staff training, including food safety, allergen awareness, and cleaning procedures.
- Foster a positive, supportive, and professional team environment.
Stock & Outlet Management
- Ensure cafe huts remain well-stocked, clean, and visually appealing.
- Help minimise waste and maximise efficiency throughout the season.
Operational Support
- Work closely with the Food & Beverage Manager & Assistant Manager to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Support wider site operations when required, including retail or duty management responsibilities.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues across departments to deliver a seamless guest experience.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience supervising within catering, hospitality, or food service.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- A proactive, positive attitude with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of food hygiene and allergen management (Level 2 Food Hygiene desirable).
- Flexible availability, including weekends, evenings, and bank holidays throughout the Halloween and Christmas seasons, working 40 hours per week.
