Visitor Experience Supervisor (Venues)
The Museums, Art Gallery and Heritage Service sits within Southampton City Council’s Culture and Tourism Division and plays a vital role in sharing, celebrating and caring for Southampton’s rich art, history and heritage. Through Southampton City Art Gallery, SeaCity Museum, Tudor House & Garden and the city’s collections, we create opportunities for people to explore stories, ideas and experiences that connect communities, visitors and future generations.
We are a public-facing, people-centred service that brings together collections, exhibitions, learning, engagement, volunteering, commercial activity and venue operations. The Role
As Visitor Experience Supervisor (Venues), you will lead the practical delivery of venue quality standards and supervise the day-to-day front of house operation in one of our venues. You will help ensure visitors, volunteers, customers and colleagues experience welcoming, safe, well-presented and inclusive venues.
You will organise daily operations, support rotas, supervise Visitor Experience Assistants, act as a point of contact for volunteers, maintain standards across reception, retail, exhibitions and cafés, support venue hire and learning activity, manage customer enquiries, contribute to security and health and safety procedures, and help achieve income and service targets.
We are looking for someone confident, organised and supportive, with strong customer care skills and the ability to guide others in a busy public-facing environment. You will need to communicate clearly, respond calmly to operational priorities and model excellent visitor experience standards.
We have a posts available of 35hrs from Tuesday-Saturday.
If you are successful in being invited to interview, you may be asked to complete one or more interactive tasks on the day as part of the selection process.
Interview date will be on 7th or 9th September and will be confirmed after closing date.

Salary: The salary band for this role is £28,792 - £31,022 per annum (pro rata). The starting salary is £28,792 with annual progression through the salary bands.
