Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Pizza Chef to join our commited team at Casa Mia. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and the ability to stay calm in a busy kitchen environment, with a particular focus on Neapolitan pizza making. This role offers an exciting opportunity to craft high-quality pizzas in a fast-paced environment. We pride ourselves on being the excellent customer service. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting delicious pizzas while maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene. Previous experience in a restaurant or similar setting is essential, but specific training will be provided.
This is a long term, permanent position and once trained we offer a very competitive hourly rate.
Own transport is preferable as the successful candidate will be expected to work local mobile events once trained.
Responsibilities
- Prepare pizza dough, sauces, toppings, and other ingredients according to recipes and quality standards
- Cook pizzas to perfection using appropriate methods and equipment
- Ensure all food preparation complies with food safety regulations and hygiene standards
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations and kitchen equipment throughout shifts
- Assist with inventory management by organising ingredients and supplies
- Monitor cooking times and temperatures to deliver consistent quality
- Collaborate with team members to deliver excellent service in a timely manner
- Adhere to health and safety procedures at all times during food preparation and service
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or kitchen roles, preferably within a restaurant environment
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques related to pizza making and meal preparation
- Familiarity with food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Previous serving experience is advantageous but not essential; willingness to learn is key
