Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Domiciliary & Outreach Support Workers to provide essential care and assistance to individuals in their own homes and community settings. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable adults and children, supporting their independence and wellbeing. The position is paid at £13.45 - £15.00 per hour and is suitable for those with a genuine interest in caring professions, including experience in assisted living, nursing, or home care environments. Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised care plans tailored to each individual's needs, including assistance with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility.
- Support clients with medication administration following prescribed guidelines.
- Assist with meal preparation and nutritional needs, ensuring dietary requirements are met.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental wellbeing.
- Facilitate activities that encourage social engagement and cognitive stimulation, including dementia or Alzheimer's care when necessary.
- Assist clients with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Support clients with mobility issues using safe handling equipment and techniques, in line with manual handling best practice.
- Drive clients to appointments or social activities as needed, ensuring safe transportation.
- Recognise and respond appropriately to behavioural challenges or health emergencies, applying first aid when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and communicate effectively with family members or healthcare professionals.
Skills
- Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home care, dementia or Alzheimer's care is highly desirable.
- Strong patient care skills with a compassionate approach towards vulnerable individuals.
- Knowledge of medication administration and basic first aid procedures.
- Ability to manage behaviour effectively and handle challenging situations calmly.
- Excellent organisational skills for managing multiple clients' needs efficiently.
- Valid driving licence for transportation duties; experience in childcare or hospice care is advantageous.
- Confidence assisting clients with mobility challenges using hoists and safe handling equipment.
- Good communication skills to build trustful relationships with clients and team members.
- Flexibility to work various shifts as required, demonstrating reliability and professionalism.
Requirements
- Enhanced DBS check against the Adults' Barring List and Children's Barring List.
