Job Summary
The role is for Company Fleet Mechanic. We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Motor Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of motor vehicles and equipment. This role requires a strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with hand and power tools, and excellent customer service skills. The Motor Mechanic will ensure that all repairs are completed efficiently and to the highest standard, contributing to the safety and reliability of our fleet and machinery.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose faults using schematics and mechanical knowledge to identify issues accurately.
- Repair and maintain engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and other vehicle components.
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques to carry out repairs.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tyre rotations, and inspections.
- Read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and manuals to facilitate repairs.
- Assist with equipment repair and perform welding as required for structural or mechanical fixes.
- Conduct heavy lifting of parts or equipment safely during repair procedures.
- Maintain detailed records of all work carried out for each vehicle or piece of equipment.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair status clearly and professionally.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and organisational policies.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Motor Mechanic or similar role with a solid understanding of vehicle systems.
- Proficiency in reading schematics, technical diagrams, and manuals.
- Mechanical knowledge of various vehicle components and systems.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques.
- Ability to perform maintenance tasks efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and working in various positions including standing for extended periods.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with clients and team members.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in automotive or mechanical engineering are preferred but not essential.
