Broughton Cottage Day Nursery is a private day nursery located in Dunton Green. The nursery is based in a beautiful period property set in lovely grounds. We are situated not far from junction 4 of the M25, close to Sevenoaks and Knockhill.

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Apprentice to join our vibrant early childhood education team. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about child development, management, and leadership within a nurturing environment. The successful candidate will support daily nursery activities, assist with programme delivery, and gain valuable experience in childcare and early years education.
Duties
- Assist in the organisation and supervision of children’s activities, ensuring a safe and stimulating environment
- Support senior staff in implementing educational programmes tailored to children’s developmental needs
- Engage with children through play, storytelling, and educational exercises to promote learning and social skills
- Help maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the nursery environment
- Support with administrative tasks such as record keeping and communication with parents or guardians
- Assist with behavioural management under supervision, fostering positive behaviour and development
- Contribute to team meetings by sharing observations on children's progress and behaviour
- Support with outings or trips organised for the children, including transportation if necessary
Requirements
- Experience working with children or in childcare settings is desirable but not essential; a keen interest in early childhood education is required
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Demonstrated management and leadership qualities, with the ability to work effectively within a team
- Passion for working with young children and understanding of their developmental stages
- Good organisational skills to support daily nursery operations
- Valid driving licence is preferred for transporting children or supplies when required
- Ability to work flexibly within scheduled hours, maintaining professionalism at all times

This position provides valuable hands-on experience in early childhood education while supporting professional growth within a caring environment, you will be able to achieve a level 2 or 3 in Childcare during your apprenticeship.
