About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who can act as an ambassador for the sector and help inspire people of all ages to consider a career in care.
As a Recruitment and Retention Officer, you will support a range of projects and initiatives designed to attract, develop and retain people within adult social care. Alongside this broader role, you will take the lead on our Future Workforce programme, helping to inspire the next generation of care professionals and build sustainable workforce pipelines for the future.
You will promote careers in adult social care across Leicestershire, working closely with schools, colleges, universities, training providers, employers and community organisations. Through presentations, events, workshops and engagement activities, you will help raise awareness of the wide range of rewarding career opportunities available within the sector.
This is a highly people-focused role, so you'll need to be confident adapting your approach to different audiences and building positive relationships with people of all ages and backgrounds. Whether you're speaking to secondary school pupils, supporting care providers at an event, or working with education partners to develop new opportunities, you'll play a key role in encouraging people to consider a career in care and helping the sector attract the workforce it needs for the future.
Working closely with employers, education providers and strategic partners, you will help shape the future adult social care workforce by increasing awareness of the wide variety of roles available within the sector. You will lead engaging campaigns and initiatives that challenge perceptions, showcase the value of care careers and attract new people into the profession, while also supporting the delivery of our flagship Care Professional of the Year Awards, recognising and celebrating the exceptional individuals who make a difference every day.
One day you could be inspiring a group of primary school pupils to consider future career possibilities; the next, supporting someone looking to start a completely new career journey.
About You
To apply for this post, you must be able to evidence in your application how you meet the following criteria:
- Experience of engaging, influencing and building relationships with a wide range of audiences and stakeholders. Along with experience writing detailed reports for senior managers.
- Confidence in presenting to groups, from primary school pupils to adults seeking a career change.
- Knowledge and understanding of adult social care and the opportunities, challenges and career pathways within the sector. Along with k nowledge of using social media and the different social media platforms.
- Experience of developing and delivering recruitment, workforce development or careers engagement initiatives. And experience working within a social care recruitment role or substantial experience in within the social care sector.
- Strong communication and networking skills with the ability to inspire others.
- A passion for shaping the future workforce and attracting new talent into adult social care.
