Role overview
The Service Engagement Lead is responsible for driving the growth of NHS and private patient referrals across Wirral, Cheshire and North Wales, supporting Newmedica Cheshire Oaks’ strategic objectives and commitment to outstanding patient care. The role focuses on building and maintaining strong relationships with key healthcare referrers, including optometrists, GPs and NHS stakeholders, while developing and delivering engagement, marketing and educational initiatives that increase awareness of Newmedica’s services. Working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners, the postholder will analyse referral trends, identify growth opportunities, coordinate events and community outreach activities, and enhance the organisation’s reputation within the local healthcare community. As a key ambassador for Newmedica, the Service Engagement Lead will promote the organisation’s purpose of making a positive difference to people’s lives while supporting sustainable growth and improved patient outcomes. Must be willing to relocate or be within a commutable distance from the office.
What skills and experience do I need
You will have experience within a referrals or sales generation /marketing environment. Ideally you will have knowledge of the NHS policy landscape relating to patient referrals, particularly in the ophthalmology sector.
You will be an organised self-starter, understanding the importance of knowledge and subject matter expertise to enable confident conversations and build credibility with referrers.
Your friendly and engaging personality will mean that you are adept at establishing effective working relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders. You will be used to building long term relationships and will understand how to maintain these contacts in a way that will encourage on-going patient referrals.
You will have experience of organising and managing promotional events and your excellent organisational skills will ensure these are always a success.
You will be comfortable working in a hybrid-based role with a high degree of travel around Wirral, Cheshire and North Wales. Whilst the core working time is typical office hours, flexibility will be required regarding travel and after-hours events.
