We're looking for a caring, resilient and enthusiastic Youth Mentor to join our therapeutic residential team. This is more than a support worker role – it's an opportunity to become a trusted adult, positive role model and mentor for young people who have experienced trauma and adversity.
Every day is different. One day you might be helping with homework, the next supporting a young person to the gym, teaching them to cook, playing basketball, going swimming, or simply being there to listen when they need someone most.

About the Role
You'll support young people aged 11–17 with emotional and behavioural needs within a small therapeutic children's home.
The young people we support benefit from adults who are calm, consistent and genuinely interested in helping them build confidence, resilience and life skills.
You'll be someone who can encourage healthy routines, positive relationships and aspirations for the future through everyday experiences.
What You'll Do
- Build positive and trusting relationships with young people.
- Support education, routines and independence.
- Encourage hobbies, sports and healthy interests.
- Help young people develop confidence and emotional resilience.
- Promote healthy relationships and positive choices.
- Support young people in the community.
- Complete daily recordings and care planning.
- Work alongside therapists, social workers and families.
- Safeguard young people and promote their welfare at all times.

Essential Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends and waking nights.
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
- A genuine passion for improving the lives of young people.
Desirable
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete it).
- Experience working with children or young people.
- Experience in residential care, youth work, education, sports coaching or mentoring.
- Understanding of trauma-informed practice.
