Can you MIG weld, work with sheet metal, and read engineering drawings without needing someone stood over you all day?
Position: Sheet Metal Worker / Welder

Salary: Up to £17 per hour

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Sheet Metal Worker / Welder to join a busy, growing sheet metal engineering business in Rugby.
This is not repetitive production welding where you stare at the same part all day and slowly forget what joy was.
The company provides a full in house sheet metal and engineering service, with work covering laser cutting, punching, press brake, fabrication, MIG welding, robotic welding, waterjet cutting, paint spraying and finishing.
The work is varied and includes defence related projects, vehicle related manufacturing, subcontract engineering, point of sale equipment, retail display units, and other bespoke work.
There is currently more work available than the team has hours in the day to complete, so they are looking for reliable people who can come in, settle in and add value long term.

- Able to fabricate, tack, weld and finish accurately
- Reliable attendance and good timekeeping
- Able to work independently without constant supervision
- Comfortable working in a busy, hands on workshop
Robotic / cobot welding experience would be useful, but it is not essential. The main things are good welding ability, sheet metal experience, reliability and the right attitude.
The good bit
This is a proper sheet metal role with varied work, stable hours, an early finish on a Friday and the chance to join a long standing business.
You will be working across different jobs, drawings and projects, so it would suit someone who likes fabrication and welding work where you actually have to think about what you are making.
The company values reliability, skill and attitude. They are not looking for someone who wants a quick short term stop gap. They want someone dependable who can become part of the team.
