Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and caring Personal Care Assistant to deliver exceptional support and companionship to a young man in his own home. This paid role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring assistance with daily activities, medical needs, and emotional well-being. The ideal candidate will be energetic, detail-oriented, and committed to providing respectful, high-quality care.
Duties
- Assist clients with personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, and to promote independence and comfort
- Support medication administration according to care plans.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and preferences, ensuring safety and compliance
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance mental well-being
- Implement behaviour management strategies to help reduce challenging behaviour
- Help with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Drive clients safely to appointments, errands, or social activities as needed
- Promote physical activity and exercise
Skills
- Experience in care is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medication administration
- Strong understanding of Autistic Spectrum Disorder
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with the client, family, and healthcare teams
- Valid driving license with a clean driving record
- Familiarity with home care procedures, assisted living environments, and behavior management techniques
