Location: The Blackhorse Gozzard’s Ford
Hours: 25-35 hours per week
Schedule: 2 guaranteed days off every week
Salary: Highly competitive salary + high tronc/tips
Key Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a busy, high-quality restaurant or gastropub kitchen
- Previous experience as a Kitchen assistant or similar role
- Proven ability to work within kitchen teams during busy
- Strong passion for fresh, high-quality food and standards
- Excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills
- Knowledge of kitchen health & safety and food hygiene standards
About the Role
One of Oxford’s most popular pub companies is expanding its team, and an exciting opportunity has arisen to join The Blackhorse Gozzard's Ford as a Kitchen assistant .
This role is ideal for an ambitious chef looking to take the next step in their career.
Working closely with the kitchen team, you will support the day-to-day running of the kitchen, lead services, maintain high food standards, and provide leadership and guidance to the wider kitchen team.
Key Responsibilities
- Cleanliness of kitchen & kitchen areas
- Maintain consistently high food quality and presentation standards
- Ensure health, safety, and food hygiene standards are maintained at all times
- Assist with stock control, kitchen organisation, and operational efficiency

- Current or previous experience in a busy, high-end pub or restaurant environment
- Passionate about delivering excellent food and customer experiences
- Positive, proactive, and professional attitude
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen
- Adaptable communicator who works well with both kitchen teams and senior management
