Job Overview
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Warehouse Operative to join our friendly family-run business in Bolton.
The role involves picking and packing customer orders for our websites and online marketplaces, preparing stock for Amazon FBA, and carrying out a variety of general warehouse duties. Many of our products are made to order, including cutting rope and cord to customers' required lengths.
As a small family business, no two days are the same. The successful candidate will need to be flexible, willing to assist in different areas of the warehouse, and take pride in providing excellent service to our customers.
We are happy to consider both part-time and full-time applicants. Working hours can be flexible and will be discussed at interview. We are initially looking for additional support within the warehouse, with the opportunity for the role to develop into a permanent full-time position for the right candidate as the business continues to grow.
Previous warehouse experience is desired but not essential, as full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick customer orders from warehouse stock.
- Cut rope and cord to customer-specified lengths.
- Pack orders securely and accurately ready for dispatch.
- Process and book out orders using dispatch software.
- Prepare products for Amazon FBA shipments, including labelling and boxing.
- Receive deliveries and put stock away in the correct locations.
- Assist with stock replenishment and regular stock checks.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe warehouse.
- Assist with general warehouse duties and support other areas of the business when required.
What We're Looking For
- Previous warehouse, picking and packing or dispatch experience is desired but not essential.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
- Comfortable carrying out manual handling and working on your feet throughout the day.
- Basic computer skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a small team.
- A willingness to learn and take on a variety of tasks.
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
There may also be opportunities for the right candidate to receive training in the safe operation of warehouse lifting equipment as the role develops.
