The Role:
- We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Home Care Services Manager to lead and develop our growing home care service.
- This role is suitable for candidates with 1–3 years’ experience in home care or social care leadership. Freshers with relevant qualifications and strong management potential are also welcome to apply.
- The successful candidate will manage operations, ensure regulatory compliance, oversee service development, and support business growth through council and private care channels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day operations of the home care service
- Ensure full compliance with Care Inspectorate regulations and Scottish care standards
- Lead, supervise, train, and appraise care staff
- Oversee care planning, reviews, and risk assessments
- Maintain accurate digital records and reporting systems
- Liaise with families, social workers, and healthcare professionals
- Handle safeguarding concerns appropriately
- Support staff recruitment, onboarding, and retention
- Manage local authority contracts and private client services
- Contribute to business development and tender submissions
Essential Requirements:
- 1–3 years’ experience in home care or social care (senior/lead role preferred)
- Registered Manager within the care inspectorate (or eligible to register)
- Strong understanding of care service infrastructure and regulatory compliance
- Knowledge of Scottish care legislation and best practice standards
- Professional experience working with Scotland Excel frameworks
- Experience handling Scotland Excel contracts and council tender processes
- Experience working with local authority funding packages
- Familiarity with private client platforms such as Bark and similar lead-generation systems
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
- Ability to train, mentor, and develop care staff
- Proficiency in Scotland Excel and care management software
- Excellent documentation and record-keeping skills
- Right to work in the UK
Desirable Qualifications:
- SVQ Level 4/5 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
- Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC)
- Experience in quality assurance and service improvement
- Experience managing council frameworks and service expansion
