Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Night Care Assistant to provide high-quality support to residents during overnight hours in our Nursing home. The ideal candidate will ensure residents’ safety, comfort, and well-being through attentive care and effective communication. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring assistance during the night.
Responsibilities
- Monitor residents throughout the night to ensure their safety and comfort
- Assist with personal care tasks such as toileting, repositioning, and medication reminders in accordance with care plans
- Respond promptly and effectively to any emergencies or residents’ needs during the shift
- Document observations and any incidents accurately in accordance with care home procedures
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents at all times
- Communicate effectively with residents, colleagues, and healthcare professionals to coordinate care
- Support residents’ emotional well-being through respectful interaction and companionship
Requirements
- Previous experience working within a care home or home care setting is desirable
- Knowledge of care plans and ability to follow prescribed procedures accurately
- Good IT skills for recording documentation and updating resident records
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in caring for others
- Ability to work independently during night shifts while maintaining high standards of care
- Flexibility to work night hours as part of a rota system and some day shifts of the service requires so.
This role provides an essential service within our community, supporting vulnerable individuals during overnight hours with professionalism and kindness.

Pay: £14.50-£14.90 per hour
