We’re an independent retailer of craft, traditional and foreign beer with shops and tasting rooms based St Albans, Hitchin and Bishop's Stortford in Hertfordshire. The most important thing about Beer Shop is the service we provide to our customers. We’re looking to employ someone who is enthusiastic and positive when interacting with people and has a keen interest in the world of beer. You will be talking about beer in the shop all day, so it’s important that you have a good knowledge of the beer industry.
What
Flexibility, weekend and evening working is essential. You will sometimes be
required to work additional hours to provide cover. The role will require you to help, serve and advise customers in our Hitchin shop. You’ll be responsible for stock and cellar control and assist with the general day-to-day running of the shop.
Who
We’re looking to employ hardworking individuals with a keen interest to work in the exciting and growing specialist beer industry. Previous experience in hospitality is preferred but not essential, however you must be able to demonstrate a broad knowledge of beer styles and the current beer industry. You will research and keep up to date with current industry trends and topics and engage with our customers and suppliers. You will be required to use spreadsheets, respond to emails, use till systems and update our website so you will have to be tech-savvy. You must be friendly, polite and proactive in your approach to working with customers and physically fit as there will be lots of heavy lifting.
