Hennis Joe Care & Support is a provider for young people and adults 0-17,18 -64 and 65+ with Autism, Learning and Physical Disabilities, Drug, and Mild Mental health. We support individuals to develop the abilities they need to move on to the next stage in their lives.
We specialise in supporting young people and adults towards greater independence and the provision of outreach support.

Job Title: Senior Support Worker

Summary
Support to clients with learning and physical disabilities, autism, young people going through transition from children to adulthood and mental health living in a supported accommodation or in the community Outreach.
Must have senior experience of minimum of three years and supervising care staff
- To understand and adhere to the philosophies, policies and principles upon which the service is based.
- To work in such a way that allows the service users to be involved in day to day and long-term decision making
- To offer support to clients enabling them to build confidence, self-esteem and an independent life style.
- To support clients in the management of their own personal care in a sensitive way – such as support around tasks at house, shopping, cleaning and cooking
- To share in, support and involve the clients in all the usual domestic activities such as cleaning, shopping and cooking when needed.
- To work with the clients in such a way that takes account of their individual, cultural and religious needs.
- To participate in the implementation of agreed individual care plans, this may include structured teaching of specialised skills as set out by the re-ablement or rehabilitation team.
- To support with booking and going with people to appointments.
- Helping individuals to get to work, college and training
- To carry out paper work such as logging daily tasks concisely and accurately where necessary on behalf of service users.
Team member responsibilities
- To plan and work as a team with other staff members.
- To pass on relevant information to other team members, using agreed communication procedures.
- To keep records and write reports in the appropriate files.
- To attend staff meetings, Management Committee meetings and any other relevant meeting where appropriate.
General responsibilities
- To work as part of a team committed to providing high quality care and support to people with learning and physical abilities, autism, young people through transition from children to adulthood and mental health.
- To participate in regular support and supervision with line manager(s).
- To undertake training where appropriate and possible, as identified in support and supervision.
- To adhere to the Code of Conduct for care staff.

- To undertake other duties relevant to the post, this may include working in an emergency capacity with other clients managed by the organisation. The house you work in will be assigned by your line manager.
