Job Opportunity – Delivery Driver/Labourer required at our Clevedon Depot
Working hours 7:00 am to 16:30 pm with a paid lunch break - Salary paid weekly
The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery and collection of plant, tools and equipment to and from customer sites, while also supporting the depot team with general labouring and day-to-day depot duties.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Safely deliver and collect plant, tools and equipment from customer sites.
- Ensure all equipment is loaded, secured and transported safely and in accordance with company procedures.
- Carry out vehicle checks and report any defects or maintenance requirements.
- Provide a professional and friendly service when dealing with customers on site.
- Assist customers with the safe loading and unloading of equipment where required.
- Check equipment on collection and report any damage, missing items or defects to the depot team.
- Assist with the movement, cleaning and preparation of equipment within the depot.
- Support the depot team with general yard and warehouse duties.
- Ensure equipment is stored safely and correctly when returned to the depot
- Assist with basic maintenance, cleaning and preparation of equipment where appropriate.
- Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment across the depot and vehicles.
- Follow all company health and safety procedures.
- Liaise with the Depot Manager and Hire Desk to ensure deliveries and collections are completed efficiently.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties required to support the smooth running of the depot.
Key job requirements
- A valid clean UK driver’s licence
- 1 year delivery driving experience preferred
- Hard working and physically fit due to the nature of the equipment
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Multi drop experience would be an advantage
- Previous experience within the tool hire sector is preferred but not essential
