Labourer / Trainee Stove & Fireplace Installer
Incendium Stoves & Fireplaces – Based near Pulham Market, Diss
£120 per day – Self-employed
Monday to Friday
We’re looking for a reliable, hard-working person to join the team at Incendium Stoves & Fireplaces, assisting with the installation, servicing and maintenance of stoves, fireplaces and associated works.
This is a hands-on role and would suit someone who enjoys practical work, wants to learn a skilled trade and isn’t afraid of getting stuck in.
The Role
Your day-to-day work will include:
- Assisting with wood-burning stove and fireplace installations
- Helping with fireplace removals and alterations
- Chimney and flue work
- Servicing and maintenance work
- Moving and handling stoves, materials and equipment
- Working from ladders, roofs and at height
- Using hand and power tools
- Loading and unloading vans and keeping tools and equipment organised
- Keeping customers’ homes and work areas clean and tidy
- Assisting installers with general building and finishing work
- Occasional work on our own yard, renovations and outdoor projects
- A variety of other practical jobs as required
No two weeks are necessarily the same, so we’re looking for someone adaptable who is happy getting involved with different types of work.
What We’re Looking For
Experience in construction or another practical trade would be useful, but it’s not essential for the right person.
More importantly, you need to be:
- Reliable and punctual
- Hard-working with a good attitude
- Comfortable working at height — this is essential
- Physically capable of manual work and lifting
- Willing to learn
- Sensible and safety-conscious
- Respectful when working in customers’ homes
- Able to take instruction and work as part of a team
- Happy working outdoors throughout the year
- Comfortable with early starts and full working days when required
A CSCS card is not required.
A full driving licence is preferred but not essential. You will need to make your own arrangements for getting to our base near Pulham Market each morning. Having your own transport would be an advantage.
Opportunity to Progress
This doesn’t have to remain a labouring position.
For someone who turns up, works hard and wants to learn, there is a genuine opportunity to develop their skills alongside experienced installers and work towards becoming a stove and fireplace installer themselves.
We’d expect that development to happen over a period of a couple of years rather than overnight, but we’re happy to invest time into the right person.
We’re looking for someone who wants to become a useful, skilled and trusted member of the team.

£120 per day

Work is primarily across Norfolk and the surrounding area, with daily starts from our base near Pulham Market.
