About Us:
Cell Guidance Systems is a Cambridge-based biotechnology company. We offer products and services that allow biomedical research scientists to achieve their goals. We also develop pre-clinical therapeutic assets.
The Position:
Working in our Sawston laboratories, this position focuses primarily on the cytogenetics service: Reporting to our clinical cytogeneticists, the successful candidate will receive and prepare customers' cell samples for karyotypic analysis. They will also be responsible for communicating with customers, primarily by email, receiving samples and providing reports. The role also offers the employee the opportunity to gain experience in other parts of the business, including logistics and marketing.
About you:
The ideal candidates will be dynamic, collaborative, adaptive, self-motivated, proactive and passionate about developing scientific concepts and technologies. They will have strong documentation, written, oral and interpersonal skills, show attention to detail, and have an analytical, methodical mind. Candidates must have experience in basic cell biology techniques, including cell culture.
Work environment and conditions:
Cell Guidance Systems operates from two locations: Sawston and the Babraham Research Campus, one of the most dynamic biotech locations in Europe, and host to more than fifty companies working in diverse areas of biomedical research. The Campus is close to Cambridge University, Addenbrooke's Hospital and the adjacent Biomedical campus.
