ESTATE HANDYMAN/WOMAN
Exciting opportunity for an Estate Handyman (or Handywoman) on a farming and sporting estate in Northumberland.
The estate includes several traditional properties, buildings, boundary walls requiring ongoing maintenance and repairs. We are looking for a practical individual with skills and experience in various trades (masonry experience is preferred) to work on and look after a variety of buildings and structures.
The successful applicant will work closely alongside / supporting the existing team but must also be capable of working unsupervised and as part of a wider team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
This is a wide-ranging role which will involve
- General building, joinery, decoration works
- Stone masonry repairs and maintenance, including stone cutting, re-pointing, re-building etc
- Identifying, highlighting and reporting issues
- Undertaking repair works with pride and to a high standard
- Regular property inspections
- Effective communication with the office
- Coordinating and supervising external contractors
SKILLS:
- Relevant experience in a similar role or trade
- Practical knowledge of various repair and maintenance techniques
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- An attention for detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good housekeeping and time management skills
- Maintenance of equipment / tools / plant
- Health & Safety Awareness
- Clean valid driver’s license
