Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Part-Time Vehicle Valeter & Safety Checker, where your enthusiasm and attention to detail will keep our fleet looking sharp and operating safely. In this vital role, you will be responsible for thoroughly cleaning and detailing vehicles to ensure they meet our high standards of presentation. Additionally, you will perform safety checks to verify that each vehicle is roadworthy and complies with safety regulations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, contribute to vehicle safety, and develop valuable skills in vehicle maintenance and customer service.
Duties
- Work closely with the Hire Desk Team and Fleet Department to ensure that the following can be completed
- Preparing cars, vans, trucks for hire including cleaning and visual inspections
- Regular visual safety checks on hire vehicles – training provided
- Assisting Hire Staff with check In’s and Check Out’s on ProHire
- Delivery to and collection from offsite vehicle storage yards
- Keeping yard and work area tidy and free of obstructions
- Ensuring we have stock of consumables (oil, and cleaning items)
- Backup for driving/deliveries/collections/moving vehicles between depots
Hours / Location
SHIFT PATTERN (2 Weekly Shift Pattern)
Week 1
07:30 – 17:30 Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday (1 hour for lunch OR 2 x 15 min breaks and 30mins for lunch)
Week 2
07:30 – 17:30 Thursday & Friday (1 hour for lunch OR 2 x 15 min breaks and 30mins for lunch)
07:30 – 12:15 Saturday (15 min break)
Full training will be given and will be based at our Hoddesdon branch although shifts at our Hatfield branch may be required
Skills / Attributes
- Full driving licence with a clean driving record
- Experience of driving various types of vehicles preferred but not essential

Pay: From £12.71 per hour
Expected hours: 22.5 – 27.0 per week
