Job Summary
We are an established, modern mixed NHS and private dental practice in Bracknell, providing high-quality, patient-centred care for over 75 years.
We are looking for an experienced Dental Head Receptionist/ Operational Lead (minimum 3 years’ experience required) to lead our team, oversee daily operations, and drive the continued growth and efficiency of the practice.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who thrives in a busy environment and takes ownership of both compliance and performance.
Responsibilities
Head Receptionist
- Organise Dentist/Hygiensit Day list
- Answering telephone quires
- Taking Payments and cashing up end of the day
Practice Operations & Leadership
- Oversee the smooth day-to-day running of the practice
- Lead, support and manage the clinical and reception team
- Resolve staff and patient issues efficiently and professionally
- Manage rotas, sickness, holidays, and arrange temporary cover where required
- Ensure excellent patient experience and service standards
Financial & Performance Management
- Monitor UDA delivery and private performance (daily and weekly tracking)
- Oversee daily takings, cashing up, and financial reconciliation
- Manage invoices, expenses, and supplier pricing comparisons
- Support growth through improved diary utilisation and patient flow
Complaince & Governance
- Ensure full compliance with CQC, HTM 01-05
- Emergency drugs, oxygen and defibrillator checks
- Ensure pracitice policies are up to date
- Orgnaise equipment servicing (autoclaves, X-rays, compressor, etc.)
Administration
- Patient records, referrals, and incoming documentation
- Denplan patient lists and administration
- Ensure all documentation is correctly scanned, stored, and tracked
Requirements
- Has a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Dental Receptionist/Head Nurse
- Has strong knowledge of NHS and private dentistry operations
- Is confident with compliance, CQC inspections, and audits
- Is highly organised, proactive, and detail-oriented
- Can lead a team effectively while remaining hands-on
- Is comfortable using systems such as Dentally (or similar practice software)
Pay: £16.00-£18.00 per hour
