Are you a qualified and compassionate Youth Worker looking to make a genuine difference in the lives of children and young people?
We are seeking an enthusiastic Qualified Youth Worker to join our dedicated team in a therapeutic 3-bed residential children's home located in Redditch (B98), supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
Our home is proudly Ofsted rated GOOD, providing a safe, nurturing and child-centred environment where young people are supported to overcome challenges, build resilience and achieve positive outcomes.
The Role
Working 40 hours per week on a rota that includes evenings, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins (where required), you will provide consistent, high-quality care and support while helping young people develop confidence, independence and essential life skills.
You'll become a positive role model, working within a therapeutic framework that promotes stability, trust and emotional wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people.
- Deliver therapeutic, trauma-informed care tailored to individual needs.
- Support young people with education, emotional wellbeing, independence and daily living skills.
- Encourage participation in hobbies, activities and community engagement.
- Maintain accurate records, reports and care documentation.
- Work collaboratively with social workers, families and partner agencies.
- Safeguard children and promote their welfare at all times.
- Help create a warm, safe and structured home environment.
What We're Looking ForEssential
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or an equivalent recognised qualification).
- Experience supporting children or young people with EBD, challenging behaviour or complex needs.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Flexibility to work a 40-hour rota, including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins.
- A caring, resilient and positive approach.
Desirable
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Knowledge of therapeutic or trauma-informed practice.
