Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Warehouse Supervisor/Forklift Driver to oversee daily warehouse operations and ensure efficient materials handling. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team, operating forklifts safely, and maintaining accurate logistics processes within a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities
- Supervise daily warehouse activities, including shipping, receiving, and inventory management
- Operate forklift trucks safely to move materials across the warehouse and loading areas
- Oversee materials handling processes ensuring efficiency and safety standards are met
- Manage warehouse management system (WMS) to track stock levels, locations, and movements accurately
- Coordinate with logistics providers and 3PL partners to ensure timely deliveries and collections
- Implement process improvements to optimise workflow, reduce waste, and enhance productivity
- Lead and motivate warehouse staff, providing training on equipment operation and safety protocols
- Maintain compliance with health & safety regulations.
- Assist with mechanical troubleshooting of warehouse equipment when necessary
- Support shipping & receiving operations by preparing orders for dispatch or receipt
Experience
- Proven experience in warehouse management or supervisory roles within logistics or distribution environments of at least 5 years.
- Strong knowledge of materials handling equipment, particularly forklift operation.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Experience in process improvement initiatives within warehousing or logistics sectors
- Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting basic equipment issues and performing routine maintenance
- Knowledge of heavy lifting procedures and safe manual handling practices
- Previous exposure to 3PL operations, shipping & receiving procedures, and logistics coordination
- Demonstrated team management skills with the ability to lead a diverse workforce effectively
