Summary
We are seeking a skilled Car & Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) Workshop Controller to join our dynamic team in the UK. As the heartbeat of our workshop, you aren't just watching the clock—you’re driving efficiency. You will be responsible for the daily flow of work, ensuring our team of technicians is productive, our customers are informed, and every vehicle leaves the bay meeting the highest safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Workflow Orchestration: Assign tasks to technicians based on skill sets and workload to maximise bay utilisation.
- Quality Control: Ensure all repairs are completed to the customers satisfaction and within "sold hours."
- Communication Hub: Act as the bridge between the customer, technician and further services within the business (Recovery, Parts, Wash Yard, etc).
- Performance Tracking: Monitor KPIs, identify bottlenecks, and implement process improvements to boost productivity
- Brand Ambassador: Understand customer requirements and identify further sales opportunities
What You Bring to the Table
- Technical Roots: A solid background in mechanics is highly preferred. You need to know how long a job actually takes.
- Leadership Presence: The ability to motivate a team under pressure while maintaining a professional, "can-do" atmosphere.
- Commercially Savvy: Understanding the urgency of customers vehicles being off the road.
- Tech Literacy: Proficiency with computers and standard office software.
- Detail-Oriented: An eagle eye for administrative accuracy for quotes and invoicing.
Other aspects of the workplace will be learnt in order to understand the business as a whole and to assist in other areas if required. A team player is desired.
Working hours are Monday-Friday 0800-1800 & every other Saturday 0800-1300.
Rate of pay negotiable based on experience & what the candidate can bring to the role/company.
Pay: £35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
