GSS is looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of utility and infrastructure projects. The role will suit someone who is comfortable managing programmes, budgets, risk, change and client relationships in an NEC4 environment.
Experience with National Grid, SPEN, DNOs or other utilities would be highly advantageous. Candidates from gas, water or other infrastructure sectors will also be considered where they have delivered complex NEC-based projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead projects from mobilisation through to completion, handover and close-out.
- Manage programme, budget, scope, risk, safety, quality and client requirements.
- Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, planning and commercial teams.
- Maintain clear project reporting, meeting actions, risk registers and delivery plans.
- Support NEC4 contract processes, including early warnings, change control and compensation events.
- Manage subcontractors, suppliers and internal resources to ensure successful delivery.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships across utility and infrastructure projects.
Experience & Skills
Project management experience within utilities, power, transmission and distribution, infrastructure, gas or water sectors.
- Good working knowledge of NEC4 contracts and structured project controls.
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Commercially aware, with the ability to manage budget, risk and change.
- Able to work with planners, QSs, engineers and site teams to keep projects on track.
- Relevant project management, engineering or construction qualifications would be beneficial.
