Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Minister of Religion to provide spiritual guidance, leadership, and support within our community. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering sermons, counselling individuals, organising religious programmes, and fostering a welcoming environment for congregants of all ages. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact through faith-based leadership and community engagement.
Responsibilities
- Deliver sermons, religious teachings, and conduct worship services in accordance with organisational doctrines.
- Provide pastoral care and counselling to individuals and families, including those facing grief or hospice care needs.
- Lead and organise community outreach programmes, religious events, and special ceremonies such as weddings and baptisms.
- Mentor and support members of the congregation, including working with children and youth groups to encourage spiritual growth.
- Engage in fundraising activities to support church initiatives and community projects.
- Collaborate with other faith leaders and community organisations to promote social cohesion and mutual support.
- Offer guidance on moral and ethical issues, fostering a supportive environment for personal development.
Requirements
- Proven experience in teaching religious principles and leading congregations.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to connect effectively with diverse audiences.
- Experience working with children and mentoring individuals of different age groups.
- Compassionate approach towards hospice care recipients and those facing personal challenges.
- Ability to organise events, manage fundraising efforts, and coordinate community activities efficiently.
- Relevant theological qualification or ordination recognised by the organisation is preferred.
- A genuine commitment to serving others with integrity, empathy, and professionalism.
Pay: £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
