About the School & Inclusion Centre
Join a vibrant, diverse, and inclusive mainstream primary school of just under 400 pupils, where equity and inclusion are at the heart of everything they do.
They are incredibly proud to support upwards of 50 EHCPs across the school, with approximately 50% of these pupils supported within their dedicated, high-needs Inclusion Centre. This is a specialist, resource-rich environment designed to offer targeted, high-quality support to children who need it most.
The Role
We are seeking an exceptionally adaptable, versatile, and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join their close-knit Inclusion Centre team.
The Centre supports a wide spectrum of complex needs—ranging from non-verbal pupils and children with significant developmental delays, to high-functioning neurodivergent pupils. Working closely with the Class Teacher and SENDCo, you will help deliver highly personalised support to remove barriers to learning and foster independence in a safe, nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Targeted Support: Deliver 1:1 and small-group interventions based on individual EHCP goals.
- Adaptability: Adjust learning materials, communication styles, and sensory strategies on the fly to match the immediate needs of each pupil.
- Holistic Care: Support pupils with emotional regulation, social-emotional development, and personal care (where necessary).
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Inclusion Centre team, mainstream teachers, and external specialists to track and support student progress.
About You (Requirements):
- Experience: A strong, proven track record of working with complex SEN (ideally with a deep understanding of early cognitive development, ADHD, and ASD).
- Traits: Highly adaptable, resilient, patient, and able to stay calm under pressure.
- Compliance: Must hold (or be willing to process) an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service and provide excellent professional references.
Desirable (But Not Essential):
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification (or equivalent).
- Specialist training in PECS, Makaton, or Team-Teach / Positive Handling.
