Overview
We are seeking a reliable and physically capable Warehouse Assistant & Delivery Van Driver / Headstone Fitter to join our team. This role involves a combination of warehouse duties, delivery responsibilities, and headstone fitting tasks. The successful candidate will play a vital part in ensuring smooth operations, timely deliveries, and high-quality craftsmanship. A valid driver’s licence and experience in commercial driving are essential for this position, which offers an engaging and varied work environment. We are a small family company with a great team. You will be employed by one company but variety work over subsidiary businesses.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vans, to deliver to customers' locations.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of heavy items, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage or injury.
- Carry out headstone fitting and installation in cemeteries, ensuring precise measurements and secure placement.
- Maintain accurate delivery schedules and communicate effectively with clients regarding delivery times or any delays.
- Organise warehouse stock, including inventory management and stock replenishment.
- Perform heavy lifting, adhering to health and safety guidelines to prevent accidents.
- Keep the warehouse clean, organised, and safe for all staff members.
- Provide excellent customer service through clear communication and professional conduct during deliveries and fittings.
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery van driver,
- Strong driving skills with a clean driving record
- Previous warehouse experience is advantageous, demonstrating familiarity with stock management and organisation.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely; with physical strength and stamina
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
- Organised with good time management skills to ensure timely deliveries and installations.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
