Rest + Wild creates peaceful, design-led stays in remote natural settings. Each site is run by a small, hands-on team who care deeply about quality, comfort and the land that surrounds us.
We are looking for a reliable and practical individual to support our Site Manager. This self-employed position focuses on light maintenance, log and gas management, and general site care, supporting with cleaning as needed. It suits someone comfortable working outdoors and able to take initiative with minimal supervision. Applicants must live within 30 minutes of the site.
Scope of work
The role provides essential on-site support to keep cabins safe, stocked and well presented.
Core tasks
- Restock and neatly stack logs, kindling and firelighters for each cabin
- Check and change gas canisters safely
- Carry out light maintenance and small repairs as directed by the Site Manager
- Keep outdoor areas, paths and cabin surroundings tidy and free from debris
- Clean and empty outdoor fire pits
- Manage waste and recycling between guest stays
- Provide support with cleaning and changeover preparation as needed
- Report any faults, damage or safety concerns promptly
Skills and qualities
- Practical skills and confidence handling tools and basic repairs
- Reliable, efficient and able to work independently
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weathers
- Attention to detail and pride in presentation
- Awareness of safe working practices, particularly with tools, gas and fuel
- Flexible and willing to assist with a variety of site tasks as needed
- Own vehicle, tools and appropriate insurance
- Full UK driving licence preferred
- Must live within 30 minutes of the site
Terms
This is a self-employed temporary position, invoiced weekly for hours worked. Working hours are approximately three hours (1000-1300) on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, agreed in advance with the Site Manager.
