Field and Lawn Ltd are a national company made up of four divisions: Event Marquee Hire, Industrial Structures, Festive Lighting and Placemaking. With bases in Edinburgh, Manchester, Bristol and London, we have seen consistent growth each year across all our divisions.
We are now recruiting for a Yard and Warehouse Assistant to join our team based at our Broxburn depot.
This role will primarily involve assisting with the day-to-day running of the yard and warehouse, including operating a Forklift Truck (FLT), loading and unloading vehicles, preparing equipment for projects, and maintaining a safe, clean and organised working environment.
The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting operational activities and ensuring equipment and materials are prepared and available for site teams as required. This is a hands-on position that requires a proactive attitude, good organisational skills and a strong commitment to health and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating a Forklift Truck (FLT) safely and efficiently.
- Loading and unloading delivery and collection vehicles.
- Moving, storing and organising equipment and materials within the yard and warehouse.
- Preparing equipment and stock for upcoming projects and installations.
- Assisting with goods inwards and stock control procedures.
- Maintaining a clean, tidy and organised yard and warehouse at all times.
- Carrying out routine checks on equipment and reporting any defects or issues.
- Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with company procedures and health and safety legislation.
- Supporting colleagues and site teams when required.
- Following all health and safety rules and regulations set out by both legislation and Field and Lawn.
Throughout the year we provide event marquees for a wide range of uses including music and food festivals, international sporting events, medical facilities, government events, security events, exhibitions and corporate hospitality.
We have also partnered with a leading European manufacturer to supply and install custom-made permanent and semi-permanent industrial structures throughout the UK. These structures are designed specifically for clients and are used for warehousing, workshops, canteens, loading canopies and sporting courts.
A growing element of our business includes installing festive lighting schemes and placemaking products in many of the UK's best-known towns and cities.

Essential Skills and Experience
The successful candidate must:
- Have previous yard and warehouse experience (essential).
- Hold a valid FLT/Forklift Truck licence (essential).
- Have experience loading and unloading vehicles.
- Be able to work safely both independently and as part of a team.
- Be able to identify potential risks and maintain a safe working environment.
- Have good organisational and time management skills.
- Be reliable with excellent timekeeping.
- Be flexible to work predominantly Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work required during busy periods.
- Maintain a professional and presentable attitude at all times.
Weekend work is paid at time and a half.
Candidates will be required to operate from our Broxburn Depot, 7 Dunnet Way, Broxburn, EH52 5NN.
