Job Description – Production Manager
Strawberry Fields Farm Shop has a new and exciting opportunity for an inspiring & dynamic hands-on Production Manager to work alongside our fun, award winning and extremely fast paced team.
Supporting our head of production you will have vast knowledge of all aspects of food production from a FMCG background. With a proven track record in process improvements, quality improvements and standardisation you will be able to support our business through a period of change and rapid growth, ensuring that our customers receive only the highest quality service and best possible products each and every time.
You will have experience of working through change management and be skilled in cultural improvements and continuous improvement techniques. Background in NPD and experience in upscaling would be beneficial.
This role is not for the faint hearted, you will need to be very robust and unrelenting in your quest for change.
Job Summary
- Hands on management of day to day production operations
- Raise standards, implement new procedures and processes and monitor to ensure they are imbedded as standard
- Responsible for all stock, and wastage levels, ensuring that all stores are fully stocked at all times
- To fully understand the needs of the customer and strive to exceed those expectations by creating a service first culture, proactively suggesting ways to improve
- Recognise the changing needs of our customers, managing and resolving problems, ensuring product availability all day, every day
- Analyse sales data and regularly review the range to ensure that we have the optimum stock that is current and relevant for our customers, identify key opportunities for improvement
- Inspire new ways of working, initiate new ideas, products and efficiency savings whilst retaining great tasting, quality food
- To be fully compliant of all legal requirements and ensure all food safety and health and safety standards are met
- Able to deal with challenging team environments and capable of changing cultures and attitudes in a positive, inspiring way
- Capable of delivering change in a very fast moving business
- Ensure recipes are followed for each batch creating consistency through the range
- Hands on management role, we don't sit behind computers here! We want someone on the ground, living & breathing our production! Making things happen! Making a difference!

Skills and experience
- You will be highly organised, determined, energetic with a can do attitude.
- Fully autonomous role, must take ownership lead from the front
- Ability in dividing responsibilities and monitoring progress.
- Up-to-date with market trends and optimized stock handling processes.
- Proven experience as a production manager, looking for a new and exciting opportunity.
- Excellent time management and communication skills
- Full understanding of stock management and system maintenance
- Proven ability to lead a team, inspire, encourage and mentor, able to make things happen
- A very busy, unrelenting role, you will need to be made of tough stuff!
