Job description:
Tree and Lawn Company Ltd are an established, ARB Accredited friendly company who currently employ 14 people and are looking to expand our team further to accommodate the demand in work. We currently cover the Essex, London, Kent and Suffolk area. We provide the following services: tree felling, trimming and reducing, tree surveys, stump grinding, hedge trimming and reducing and grounds maintenance.
We are looking to hire motivated Grounds Maintenance Operatives to join our experienced grounds team on 6 months temporary to permanent contract.
The role will involve:
- Carry out, vegetation clearance, chipping wood, lawn cutting, aeration, scarification, feeding and turf laying, hedge trimming, weed killing, planting and landscaping.
- Use specialist equipment and machinery
- Often working on your own or as part of a 3-person team
- Driving a company vehicle to domestic and commercial properties across our area
- Speak to the office to provide updates regarding jobs completed
- Provide excellent customer services to all customers
- Carry and maintain tools
- Carry and assist with materials
- Attend courses
- Follow current health & safety policies
- Follow all guidance relating to toolbox talks
Salary:
- Up to £31,000 dependent on experience and qualifications.
Hours:
- Monday – Friday 7.30am – 4.30pm
- Some Weekends and longer hours may be required.
- A total of 1 hour for breaks during the day

The ideal candidate must:
- Have full clean UK driving licence.
- PA1 & 6 (desirable but not essential)
- CSCS and ROLO cards (desirable but not essential)
- Fell and process trees up to 380mm (preferred)
- Cross-cut and maintenance of a Chainsaw (preferred)
- Brush cutter/trimmer Certificate of Competance (desirable but not essential)
Required Skills:
- Must have a keen interest in the role and want to learn.
- We are looking for a reliable and positive person who works well in a team.
- Must have a proactive approach to the work and be confident to think independently.
- Experience within the role is essential.
- Must be able to pass a Safety Critical Medical including drug testing to carry out commercial works.
